Soooooooooooo yeah, I left Big Sur for New York City back in 1971. I was deeply into music at that time . . . Primarily jazz; I played a pretty good trombone ~ Unique anyway!!! I stayed a year, back to CA for a few, then to Boulder & back to NYC for five years ~ Import /Export ~ Classic Cars and Hot Rods . . . Waaaaaaay too much money & fun! Met my first "Older" woman , a Beautiful Norwiegian living in Oslo & gave up my business for the sake of Love, Beauty & Art! We broke up after a year & a half (still very good friends), but I liked it there so much I decided to stay, ultimately moving to a small village in the mountains outside Lillehammar; it became my creative Nirvana! For twenty hours a day, I would draw, paint, write, play music, chop wood, ski, sun, bike, garden, etc ~ I loved it so much I decided to become legal, so I went back to New York to get my papers in order, went to a Christmas party at one of my old hangouts & it was there that a Beautiful Blonde from Brooklyn came up to me and sez, "You, look like a starving artist"! ~ Best laid plans & all ~ Right! We came up for air two weeks later & were married ten months after! We bought our apt on 78th & 3rd, and later purchased an old colonial farmhouse just outside Saratoga Springs ~ We were married 13 years before she became terminally ill with brain cancer. I began slipping into the dark side, and when she died an agonizinly hellacious death, l became Extremely angry with God ~ If there was a God! I was pissed!!! But All Things Pass & I was able to cleanse myself as I retraced the roads of my roots. I reconnected with Spirit, wound up in an incredible relationship for a few years & am Now
back in Big Sur ~ Living & Loving Life!
So that's the fast forward version, Dominic! I'm toying with the idea of going back to NYC for a couple weeks ~ If I do, perhaps we can have lunch/dinner ~ Lobster??? Certain things I miss about the East Coast ~ but it's good to be home!
